Bruce Inglis
states that at the heart of the Melodist Full gospel Mission is its intent and
desire “to get the Bible to the Russian people”. His heart was pricked when he
heard of an atheist club in Russia whose strong desire was especially to burn
Bibles. This was the beginning of Bruce’s motivation to get the Russian people
Gods Word. He states “it is our love, light and the only book for teaching
about God”.
As for
sacrifice in the Russian mission, Bruce believes it is the traveling because “it’s just not easy”. Yes, he travels a
lot at night, by train and truck as he is trying to meet the scheduled church
meetings the following day. “And it is
cold”!!! And he brings as much with him at a time as he can – Bibles,
tracks, and reading material. “This is the foundation and the only way to reach
these rural believers and plant churches”. He has followed the ways of “circuit
riders” John Wesley and Francis Asbury.
He notes
that the Pastors and believers in the churches he visits do so appreciate the Christmas
cards, the holiday greeting and money that Faith has sent.They feel that we have become somewhat like
pen pals. Perhaps it is a new beginning for friendship between Faith and these
Russian believers. Perhaps a shout of hallelujah will be raised in Russian and
English.
